6.00am
Today is THE day – Australia turns 25 million. I’ve been fielding requests for comments from media from all over the world in preparation for today. For me, today is a cause for celebration; a day to reflect on Australia’s history, present and future.I’ve been so excited about this day that, like a kid on Christmas Day, I’ve been feverishly awaiting the alarm sounding. I’m up like a shot. A quick (quiet) breakfast (so I don’t wake the family), a check of email and I head off to Parliament House.
