Rowing into history
A few months before Canberra's centrepiece, Lake Burley Griffin, was opened, a group of students interested in rowing formed the ANU Boat Club.
Now entering its 51st year, the ANU Boat Club has a proud history of competition, having produced national champions and representatives, as well as champions in intervarsity and interstate competition.
From the Club's home on Sullivan's Creek, three different squads of rowers take to the lake to prepare for competition.
Training for the senior squad is usually four-to-five sessions a week, often at sunrise.
