Dr Amelia Dale is a Lecturer in eighteenth-century literature and culture in the English program in the ANU School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics.
Dr Dale’s research centres on eighteenth-century and Romantic literature and culture, with particular interests in book history, gender and genre, and histories of the body. Research projects include sex workers in eighteenth-century London; the history of the real estate advertisements and their unexpected connections with Romantic poetry; Jane Austen; and Laurence Sterne. She also edits and writes poetry.
She has spoken about these projects in radio interviews, newspaper interviews, columns for The Conversation and Overland, and in public talks at the Canberra Writers Festival and at the Jane Austen Society of Australia’s events.
