Associate Professor Ben Phillips is a Principal Research Fellow at the ANU Centre for Social Research and Methods.
Associate Professor Phillips has 24 years of experience as an economic and social researcher in Australia. He currently manages ANU’s microsimulation modelling team, which focuses on the Australian tax and welfare system. A majority of his research centres around modelling policy in Australia in the areas of personal income tax, welfare, superannuation and housing.
He is currently a member of the Economic Inclusion Advisory Committee (EIAC) which advises the government each year on economic inclusion matters. Prior to joining ANU, Associate Professor Phillips worked at The National Centre for Social and Economic Modelling (NATSEM), and has held roles at the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Housing Industry Association.
