Professor Blane Lewis is the Editor-in-Chief of the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies, and a Professor at the ANU Indonesia Project.

Blane Lewis is the Editor-in-Chief of the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies. Lewis joined the Arndt-Corden Department of Economics, Crawford School of Public Policy in 2014. He is a member of the ANU Indonesia Project.

His research focuses on issues related to intergovernmental fiscal relations, local public finance, and the local political economy in Indonesia. He supervises Arndt-Corden PhD students and teaches Crawford’s graduate course on Quantitative Policy Impact Evaluation.

Before joining ANU, Blane worked for many years as a policy adviser in Indonesia, mostly on intergovernmental fiscal relations and decentralization, with Harvard Institute for International Development, Research Triangle Institute, and World Bank, among others.

He has worked in a number of other developing and transition countries, including Bangladesh, Belize, Congo, Egypt, Haiti, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Niger, Philippines, Poland, Togo, and Vietnam. Blane has also taught at Cornell University and the National University of Singapore.
