Professor Edward Aspinall is Head of the Department of International Relations at the ANU Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs.

He researches politics in Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia, focusing on democratisation, ethnicity and clientelism.

Professor Aspinall is author of four books and approximately 90 journal articles and book chapters on politics in Indonesia and other countries in Southeast Asia.
