Battery Storage and Grid Integration Program
ANU College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics
Dr Hedda Ransan-Cooper is a Research Fellow at the Battery Storage and Grid Integration Program and a Research Fellow at the ANU Institute for Climate Energy and Disaster Solutions.
Dr Ransan-Cooper researches the social and policy dimensions of the decentralisation of energy. Specifically her work focuses on the lived experiences and views of people on technologies such as neighbourhood batteries, rooftop solar, household batteries, virtual power plants and microgrids.
The energy transition often gets discussed in techno-economic terms, yet research consistently shows that technology innovation and roll-out are also heavily influenced by social processes.
