Dr Katharine Balolia is a Lecturer in biological anthropology at the ANU School of Archaeology and Anthropology.

Dr Balolia is an expert in human evolution and primate skeletal biology.

Her primary research interest is to understand the relationship between sex differences in the facial skeleton and aspects of social behaviour among living primates. She has developed new techniques, using 3D surface data, to quantify size and shape of facial traits hypothesised to vary in response to sexual selection.
