Madeline Pentland

Ms Pentland researches women in Australian politics from the 1990s to 2010s. In the first year of her PhD, Madeline was the only academic from ANU to present at the world’s first academic conference on Taylor Swift, the ‘Swiftposium’ hosted by University of Melbourne, Curtin University, RMIT and AUT. She delivered a paper on the gendered use of Taylor Swift lyrics in Australian parliamentary speech between 2015 and 2023.
