Margaret Thornton is an Emerita Professor in the ANU College of Law with expertise in the areas of feminist legal theory and discrimination law.

Emerita Professor Thornton is a socio-legal and feminist scholar whose scholarship is internationally recognised. She has expertise in the areas of discrimination and the law, with particular regard to sex and sexual harassment in the legal profession and the workplace more generally.

She also has expertise on the corporatisation of universities. She has published books and many articles in these areas.
