Dr Nicholas Hoare is a Pacific History Research Fellow at the ANU Department of Pacific Affairs.

Mr Hoare’s research interests are in the colonial and environmental histories of the Pacific region — both Francophone and Anglophone — as well as more specialised interests in the Pacific’s phosphate islands and Pacific biography.

He teaches on Australia’s 19th and 20th century presence in Oceania and the Second World War in the Pacific Islands.
