Dr Pauline Bryant is an Honorary Lecturer in the linguistics program of the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics.

Dr Bryant has been a regular guest on ABC radio programs since the 1980s. Her research was the first to establish patterns of regional variation in Australian English, and she has also undertaken research on the questioning intonation prevalent among some Australian English speakers.

Her topics of interest include English language, Australian English, the role of language in society, social insights from word usage, new words, language and the media.
