Dr Shome’s work empowers intelligent robots by building algorithms and computational processes that work with and for us, ensuring they both useful and good.
He received his PhD in Computer Science at Rutgers University and was a Rice Academy Fellow at Rice University.
Dr Shome’s research has been recognised with the prestigious best paper award in Transactions on Robotics, nominated at the International Conference on Robotics and Automation, among other recognitions. He has more than forty peer-reviewed publications, including an invited article in the Encyclopedia of Robotics. Dr Shome also serves on editorial boards and committees of top robotics journals and conferences.
His expertise lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, robotics, and computer science. He has extensive experience in intelligent robotics and robotic automation. His work has also focused on human-robot research questions and uses of generative AI in robotics.
