Robert Potter is a Visiting Fellow at the ANU’s Centre for European Studies.

Robert is an experience cyber security executive and trainer with the United States Depart of State’s Cooperative Threat Reduction program where he works as an expert on cyber security. He has worked with the United States, Canadian and Australian governments on cyber security issues.

He also works extensively with the Government of Ukraine on their cyber security programs. He is a Board Member of the Ukrainian Government’s CyberDiia program working on capacity building with the Ministry of Digital Transformation. He also maintains unpaid training and advisory partnerships with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence, Security Service (SBU), National Guard and the NSDC of Ukraine. He is a Member of the Business Advisory Group for the Restoration of Ukraine.

Robert is the founding partner of Cyber Activities Group (CAG) an advisory firm which works with the United States Department of Defense on cyberwarfare doctrine, electronic warfare and drone technology. Robert is also the Chairman of Internet 2.0, an Australian cyber security firm. He was also an industry advisor to President Biden’s Counter Ransomware Initiative.

Previously Robert was the head of DFAT’s program of support to Papua New Guinea during the 2018 APEC summit. He was also the head of cyber operations at BAE Systems where he led incident response engagements against Russian, North Korean and Chinese adversaries. He was previously a visiting scholar at Columbia University.
