Dr Rod Lamberts is Deputy Director of the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS) at ANU.

Rod has been in science communication for 25 years and has been regularly working with traditional media (predominately radio) and non-traditional academic communication platforms for more than 10 years.

He has provided science communication advice to a wide variety of science-related agencies in Australia and overseas (including the UNESCO, FSANZ and the AAS) and is a frequent public commentator on science, science communication, and science and public policy.

Rod is a strong proponent of getting academia out into the world beyond the academy and has been a regular on the ABC radio network on programs including Research Filter and Nightlife for 10 years and a highly read author on The Conversation since its inception.
He is also a long time podcast devotee, exemplified in his role co-designer and co-host of The Wholesome Show podcast.

Rod’s professional and research interests include: science communication and public intellectualism/activism; science and ethics; perceptions of expertise in science; risk perception and communication; and science and public policy. He is particularly interested in engaging with non-academic audiences on matters of social importance in diverse, wildly accessible and interesting ways.
