Dr Sabrina Caldwell is a Lecturer and Researcher in the ANU College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics.
Dr Caldwell’s teaching includes neural networks and bio-inspired computing, managing software development, and web development and design.
Her research focuses on issues of image and knowledge credibility, particularly in finding quantitative ways of using physiological signals to determine human responses to disinformation and deception. Her area of research interest centres on images, specifically photo credibility.
Key to Dr Caldwell’s research is the important distinction between photographs (photos of real people, places and events) and manipulated images or photo art (images that were once photos but have now been changed by image manipulation software).
This research fits into her overall goals of contributing to the way education and information empower beneficial change in the world.
