Dr Sarah Shafik is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the ANU Research School of Biology.

Dr Shafik obtained her PhD from ANU, during which she used the Xenopus oocyte heterologous expression system to characterise malaria transporter proteins, thereby elucidating their roles in drug resistance.

She has also applied her expertise of the Xenopus oocyte system to other biological processes, including how plant transporters work to provide the plant with nutrients.
