Seth Lazar is a Professor of Philosophy at the ANU, Distinguished Research Fellow of the University of Oxford Institute for Ethics in AI, and an Australian Research Council Future Fellow.

Professor Lazar is a moral and political philosopher, who has worked on the ethics of war, risk, and now the morality, law and politics of data and AI.

He has chaired the two leading computer science conferences focused on the societal impacts of AI, and is co-author of a (US) National Academies of Science Study on Responsible Computing Research. In 2023, he will give the Tanner Lectures on AI and Human Values at Stanford University.
